There are a lot of great events happening in July, but here are the event’s our team is most excited about:
Fun with Friends Block Party - 7/1
Who doesn’t love a block party? Or just outdoor turn ups in general. We look forward to the Fun With Friends Block Party every year because the vibes are always top tier. There will be music, food, drinks, double dutch and just carefree fun energy.
Petah Jay always brings the energy when he is hosting and that energy transcendents to his own events. His DJ lineup is always crazy, it’s practically impossible not to dance. Best believe the dance circles will be activated.
Nothin But Anthem’s always feels like a reunion because you’re bound to run into someone you know…or 5. DJ line up is chef's kiss 🤌🏾. We have not been to one bad event from this brand. Ya’ll need to experience their events for yourself.
South House vs Naija House - 7/2
South house is always a vibe but the South House vs Naija House events are something special. You basically are getting 2 events for the price of one. In one space you’ll be vibing to authentic Southern hits and in the other DJs will be playing the afrobeat jams. South house knows how to pick a good DJ line up and some of our favorite NYC DJs will be curating the vibes. Not to mention the event will be held at Elsewhere both inside and on their Rooftop. We love having options.
Jaiye: An Afrobeats Affair - 7/7
Anytime Flygerian is in the building the energy is way up! He has his own event series called Jaiye and it’s always a vibe. You’ll finally be able to show off all those afrobeats and amapiano dance moves you’ve been practicing at home. Jaiye always has us singing along to the music at the top of our lungs and shazaming all of the ‘new new’ afrobeats hits.
Also, this time it will be at Quantum, which is a dope venue. It has 2 bars that stretch the length of the dance floor on either side so the wait to get drinks is always short. The dance floor is huge and the VIP section is behind the stage and has an aerial view of the entire venue.
This festival brings together thousands of people from all over the world to celebrate black hair and beauty. There’s music, performances, food, drinks, black beauty products, activities, panels and just black joy! And people look good as hell ya’ll. From hairstyles to afro-inspired fashion. It is a beautiful experience.
Ya’ll know we had to put ya’ll on. Mixxology is our very own event. It’s the turn up before the turn up. It takes place every third Friday at 6pm so you can stop by to decompress from work, pregame for the next event or turn up and then go home to sleep. We have a sponsor every month that does a happy hour, open bar or tasting. The tunes are on 10, of course. There will be food, drinks and 2 floors of vibes. This month we’ve got something special cooking so you’re not going to want to miss it.
